The Fair

Kyrsta with Tanner and Elwyn.

Russell and Daniel.

You cann't see Daniel but Rus and him had their fist in the air a good part of the time.  Uncle Russell you rule!

Cotton candy mustache.

Elwyn's class project.

Tanner's class project.

It is that time of tear againTime for the fair!  The kids had a lot of fun seeing all the different animals and things other people had made.  They all got to ride their first roller coaster.  A big thanks to Uncle Russell and his girl friend Kyrsta for helping out.

Apple Annies

Aren't they great.  Especially the one in the back.

Fun pose.

Daniel

Elwyn

They had a corn pit for the kids to play in while waiting for the hay ride.  I think it was their favorite part of the whole experience.  And I and still cleaning corn out of the van. :)

Elwyn with her pumpkin.

Daddy and Daniel looking for a pumpkin.  Daniel took FOREVER picking a pumpkin.  We through 3 different rows before I finally put my foot down and had him choose between 2 small ones.

We also picked pears and apples.  It was so much fun.  Tanner loved using the apple grabber for the higher apples.  Daniel brought his pumpkin bucket to put apples in.

We are going to make it a new family tradition to go to Apple Annies each fall.  There are hay rides, corn mazes, cutting your own pumpkin, hunting for and picking your own apples.  You can bye home made ice cream, fudge, different flavored syrups (Andy's favorite part) and all kinds of home made stuff.  The kids all crashed on the way home too.

Home Made Laundry Soap

I decided to try my hand at homemade laundry soap.  With 2 small boys and my outdoorsy husband we go through a LOT of laundry soap.  This wasn't my favorite recipe, I use this dry stuff I made after this was gone, but the kids were so cute helping me.  I had to share.  Don't worry it is not hot at all.  This is after it had gelled overnight.

Fun Pictures

Isn't he just the cutest little guy ever?

Andy got this axe for his birthday.  He just now got around to posing for me.

Me teaching Elwyn to sew.  She wasn't all that excited about it.

Am I done yet?

Look at me I finished my dinner! (That never happens)

Elwyn wearing the hat we sewed together.

Tanner posing with his makeshift bow and arrow.

Happy boy!

All the kids relaxing with Popsicles during a hot day.

Elwyn really reading to Daniel.  I didn't prompt them, she just said "Daniel lets go read a story"

Daniel fell asleep during family movie night.

Fry Bread

Yes, this is my husband.  He is the fun in our family.

Fry Bread!  So Andy gets paid tomorrow which means we are rather scant on food.  So I made a classic that my family has made for years.  And what is great is it is a food storage recipe. I try to avoid frying things as it is not very good for you.  But the kids LOVED them.  I think Elwyn ate 5 of them, which is amazing for her as she doesn't like to eat anything.

Monkey Moon Blanket

Lately I have been trying to be more healthy.  Not only to lose weight but to have a better life.  I was tired of being so tired all the time.  I would clean the house and need to have a nap in the afternoon.  Then by that same evening I would be so tired I wouldn't get anything done.  Not even fun craft things.  Once I was in Walmart and I needed rush half way across the store to take Daniel potty.  It wasn't even that far.  By the time I got there I was out of breath and dizzy.  It was then I decided I needed to make some changes.  So Andy and I started having a salad everyday instead of going out for lunch.  And having oatmeal instead of cereal.  Plus I cleaned out all my cabinets and banned all Little Debbie's, Hostess, and things of that nature.  I actually cried when we threw away the ice cream.  But it is all worth it.  There are so many benefits that I hadn't even considered.  I have a lot more energy which equals more patients with my kids.  I don't need naps anymore to get through the day.  And I am doing more of the things I want to do.  Like some of the stuff I have been meaning to sew.  So here is my latest creation!  Hopefully with more to come.

New Family Member

This is Patches.  We were walking to the car and saw this kitten in a box all by itself.  We couldn't just leave it there so now we have a new girl in the family.    Our other smaller cat got married and went away..
