Fry Bread

Yes, this is my husband.  He is the fun in our family.

Fry Bread!  So Andy gets paid tomorrow which means we are rather scant on food.  So I made a classic that my family has made for years.  And what is great is it is a food storage recipe. I try to avoid frying things as it is not very good for you.  But the kids LOVED them.  I think Elwyn ate 5 of them, which is amazing for her as she doesn't like to eat anything.

Monkey Moon Blanket

Lately I have been trying to be more healthy.  Not only to lose weight but to have a better life.  I was tired of being so tired all the time.  I would clean the house and need to have a nap in the afternoon.  Then by that same evening I would be so tired I wouldn't get anything done.  Not even fun craft things.  Once I was in Walmart and I needed rush half way across the store to take Daniel potty.  It wasn't even that far.  By the time I got there I was out of breath and dizzy.  It was then I decided I needed to make some changes.  So Andy and I started having a salad everyday instead of going out for lunch.  And having oatmeal instead of cereal.  Plus I cleaned out all my cabinets and banned all Little Debbie's, Hostess, and things of that nature.  I actually cried when we threw away the ice cream.  But it is all worth it.  There are so many benefits that I hadn't even considered.  I have a lot more energy which equals more patients with my kids.  I don't need naps anymore to get through the day.  And I am doing more of the things I want to do.  Like some of the stuff I have been meaning to sew.  So here is my latest creation!  Hopefully with more to come.

New Family Member

This is Patches.  We were walking to the car and saw this kitten in a box all by itself.  We couldn't just leave it there so now we have a new girl in the family.    Our other smaller cat got married and went away..

Blanket

It is like a Mom made hug.

Healthy Choices

Lately we have been trying to make more healthy choices in our home.  Like exercising everyday.  Eating a salad everyday.  No more going out to eat.  No more Little Debbie Cupcakes in the cabinet.  So far I have lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks.  But it is not so much about weight loss as it is about being more healthy.

Swimming Pool

We don't have a pool so we have a large garden tub and call it a pool.  It's fun for us.

Oreo Pops

These are chocolate Oreo suckers.  They are amazing!  I get requests for them all the time.  I don't remember where I found this idea but it was a good one.  They are Oreos that are taken apart.  Then dip the stick in candy makers chocolate about 1/2 inch. ( this can be bought at your local Walmart)  Press the dipped stick gently into the middle of the frosting side of the cookie and then gently press the cookie back together.  Let it dry for a bit and then dip the cookie, that is now stuck to the stick, into the chocolate.  Put it on a cookie sheet that has been covered with wax paper and let it harden in the fridge for about an hour.  I do not recommend storing them in the fridge because it makes them really hard.  But after they harden they hold their shape very well.  Just don't leave them in your hot car. :)  And wala heaven on a stick.  So have I enticed you all to come visit your desert side of the family yet?  I'll make enough for you to take home with you.  :)

Sunday Curles and Cheese

Elwyn loves getting curls on Sunday.  She has ribbons in the back.

I want to see my picture Momma!

CHEESE!

Is it time to go yet?  Lounging before church.

Fluffy (No this post is not about my weight)

I think my husband might be turning into the crazy cat man because he has taken a lot of pictures of our cat Fluffy.  We think he is a Russian Blue but we got him as a feral cat so we are not sure.  He is a big cat, all grey, with slightly darker rings on the top of his tail.  We love our Fluffy though.
